The Magic of Life
The Magic of Life is the inspirational life story of Michael Gershe, a survivor of a drunk driving crash that killed his mother and nearly himself when he was eight weeks old.
Despite breaking almost every bone in his body and a fractured skull, he went on to become a collegiate swimmer; stand-up comedian; college educator; author; and professional speaker. The program is not the typical “doom and gloom” alcohol awareness/impaired driving prevention presentation as Michael combines humor, audience participation and his powerful story for an uplifting and education message. Having been called, “funny, relatable and meaningful” The Magic of Life allows Michael to use his humor and “kid at heart’ personality to bond with audience as he discusses topics such as peer pressure, binge drinking, and drunk driving.
Michael shares his story in a way that is not a “lecture” but in a method that is different than any other speaker. As a college educator, he knows first-hand how alcohol can impact a student, but more importantly, as a survivor of a tragic crash, he understands just how blessed he is to be alive. Basically, he is just a mother’s son trying to make our communities safer by preventing impaired driving and inspiring audiences to not take life for granted.
